Our Savior Youth group is focused on service to both our parish and community and is open to 6th through 12th grade parishioners. The Junior Youth Group consists of grades 6 through 8 and the Senior Youth Group consists of grades 9 through 12. Meetings are held Sunday from 12:30-2:00 PM with the specific group time announced in the weekly bulletin; friends are always welcomed. The Junior Youth Group has the opportunity to participate in a yearly summer service camp and the Senior Youth Group has the opportunity to participate in events such as ACYC, NCYC, March For Life, and a Search Retreat. Together, the groups are involved in community service activities, including the yearly Souper Bowl of Caring, which has collected over 12,000 nonperishable food items for the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Forms to participate in youth group activities throughout the Archdiocese of Mobile can be downloaded here.
Our Savior’s Boy Scout program aims primarily at character development, citizenship training and personal fitness through a variety of methods including outdoor fun. Those of you who may have memories of Scouting know the value of teaching these principles and continuing them throughout their teens. The Parish Scout Troop is available to boys ten and a half to eighteen years of age and meets each Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM in St. Joseph’s Hall.
The Cub Scout program is open to boys in the first through fifth grades and is designed to provide very early exposure to a number of things such as outdoor skills, religious, personal and family development. Pack Three meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM in Jennings Hall from August through May with some special events planned throughout the year.
